Why did you choose a career path in senior healthcare?

I initially had a different career path in mind while I was attending college for my education/mathematics degree. I picked up a part-time job working at the local nursing facility in the dietary department. While working at the nursing facility, I fell in love with my residents. I learned so much from them, and they became my second family. I valued my time with them so much I would come in on my days off and hang out in the dining room while I completed my schoolwork as they helped. It changed my life, and I began pursuing a path in senior care.

Name your best work moment.

One of my fondest memories is working at Capital Health Home Care and participating in the Melodies and Memories program. It was an honor to present a resident in a long-term facility with an iPod with music from his generation. Seeing the spark and his face lit up filled my heart with gratitude and love.

What do you look most forward to at work?

I enjoy my team members! We have a great group who are willing to go above and beyond for seniors.

Name some of your favorite things to do outside of work.

My family means the world to me. I love spending time with my husband, son, and fur baby. I prefer being outside, enjoying the weather, and swimming in the pool, lake, or ocean!
